Postdoctoral Position: Postdoctoral Fellow Tropical Medicine

A NIH-funded postdoctoral position is immediately available to join Scaraffia research group in the Department of Tropical Medicine at Tulane University. Scaraffia´s lab performs metabolic studies in mosquitoes. Her laboratory is particularly interested in unraveling the physiological, biochemical and molecular bases underlying the regulation of nitrogen and carbon metabolism in mosquitoes, as well as in discovering new metabolic targets that can be used for the design of better mosquito-control strategies. The successful candidate will apply traditional and modern biochemical approaches, to investigate Aedes aegypti nitrogen and carbon metabolism. Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree in biochemistry, chemistry, or a related discipline with a strong background in metabolic studies.

Postdoctoral Position: Postdoctoral Fellow in Departments of Microbiology & Immunology

A Postdoctoral Fellow position is available in the Influenza and Innate Immunity Laboratory to study influenza infection and host innate immune defense. The study will focus on the characterization of the novel host factors identified by our previous work (Li et al., Immunity 2011; Wang et al., Nature Communications, 2017; Fu et al., JEM, 2017) and the impacts of these factors on influenza A virus infection. A background in lung biology and pathology, respiratory pathogens, genetically modified mice and animal models, proteomics, or innate immunity is a plus. You hold a Ph.D. in microbiology, immunology, or related field (biomedical science).

A postdoctoral fellow position is available immediately in a well-funded laboratory to study the role of microbiome on development of progression of enterohepatic disease. The primary focus of our research is to employ molecular, cellular, preclinical approaches to understand the mechanisms related to gut-liver axis, bile acid homeostasis, and nutritional and immune response during gut and liver metabolism. Postdoctoral Position: Multiple Postdoctoral Fellow Positions in Brain Institute

Multiple postdoctoral positions are available at the Brain Institute of Tulane University to work on the newly funded NIH Project Program Grant (P01) “Estrogens, Cardiometabolic Health, and Female Cognitive Aging”. The grant supports three Cores and four synergistic research Projects across the Tulane Schools of Science & Engineering and Medicine. The broad goal of the research is to determine the impact of cardiometabolic status on the ability of exogenously administered estrogens to benefit the brain and cognition in an aging female rodent model. The research is at the intersection of neuroscience, cardiovascular and metabolic function, and women’s health.
